St Agnes 5-3 Falmouth Town

St Agnes AFC hosted Falmouth Town in their Combination League Fixture on Saturday.
St Agnes took the lead in the opening 5 minutes through the outstanding Mike Burn. The rest of the first half was a fairly even affair with both teams missing chances.

The second half exploded into life with Falmouth scoring two goals in the first 5 minutes and some hesitant defending from St Agnes. To make matters worse St Agnes keeper Ryan Bull left the pitch injured with a suspected broken foot. With no other keeper named St Agnes substitute Matt Baxter stepped up to stand between the posts. St Agnes then showed tremendous character to take the game to Falmouth. A cross from Sam Hatfield was headed into the goal by a Falmouth defender to bring the score level to 2-2.

St Agnes kept on dominating the game and took the lead with a fine shot from the edge of the area from Mike Burn. St Agnes scored again a couple of minutes later when a cross from Alec Penrose was headed in by Paul Dabell. Luke Wort then pulled a goal back from a free kick and St Agnes scored another goal during a goal mouth scramble with substitute Martin Dunstan putting the ball into the net.

Falmouth Manager Paul Murray commented "A great game for the neutrals, but not for the managers”.
