St Agnes AFC hosted their Great Football Quiz at the Railway Inn, St Agnes on Sunday with grateful thanks to their host landlady Anouska House. 12 teams of football enthusiasts rolled up to see if they could meet the challenge of beating a St Agnes AFC 1st Team Manager Martyn Kimmins select Quiz Team in a seriously competitive evening.
With 40 questions levelled at the teams by quiz master Mandy Kimmins, there were many confused faces matched with head scratching, resigned defeat and unmasked cheating! The questions covered recent and historical footballing knowledge as well as national and international and as the results were read out in reverse order Martyn 'Kimmo' Kimmins began to smile until the final two when he realised his team had been knocked off the top spot by a low baller as his team were beaten by half a point by local players team 'Jack's Jewels’ and one stray dog! Still suffering with great depression and the humiliation Martyn Kimmins has called for a re-match! The evening raised £106 for club funds.
St Agnes AFC mens’ teams are back in training with 3 teams competing in the Jolly's Combination League, Falmouth Helston League Div 1, and Mining League Div 2.
